A C-E Translation Report On Commentaries Of Jiangxi Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall From The Perspective Of Hermeneutics Translation Theory

In recent years,with the deepening of reform and opening-up policy and increasing of international communications,more and more foreign tourists travel to China,wishing to know more about China and its cultural development.And red tourism is a thematic tour with Chinese characteristics,which naturally becomes a hot spot among foreign tourists.Jiangxi Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall,as an important representative of red tourism,should inevitably conduct public promotion.This dissertation is a report on the translation practice of commentaries of Jiangxi Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall from the perspective of George Steiner’s hermeneutics translation theory,aiming to discuss how four motions are applied into the translation practice and promote red culture communication.This translation report records the whole process of this translation practice.It describes preparation of source texts and theory before translation,process of translation and proofreading after translation.Meanwhile,through detailed case study,it demonstrates initiative trust in source texts and target readers,aggression in words and sentences understanding,incorporation in meaning and form,as well as compensation in persons,places,incidents and poems.Through the combination of theory and practice,it is found that: First,when translating texts of red tourism with rich cultural connotation,the translator should make good preparations before translation,including determining the supporting theories,visiting the sites and seeking for translation aids,etc.,which are conducive to the smooth translation in the later stage.Second,the commentaries of Jiangxi Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall belong to tourism publicity materials.The translator should pay attention to the information transmission when translating.If necessary,the translator can break the language shell,dig deeper connotation and ensure the accurate transmission of information.Third,the translator should fully trust the translation task,aggress the source texts,incorporate their meaning or form and compensate implied red culture in order to help readers receive better understanding.Fourth,the translator needs to update her knowledge reserves constantly because the road of translation learning is endless.Through this translation practice,the writer can not only improve her ability in translating,but also deepen her understanding of Chinese red culture in the course of practice.As a result,the writer will strengthen her study and practice,improve her translation level and contribute to the promotion of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries in future.
