Huang Ziyuan(1837-1916)was a calligrapher,educator and industrialist in the late Qing Dynasty.He was named Zhengwei,good at writing,respectful to public opinion,and respectful to public opinion.He was also called Xiangfan,late Danlong,a native of Longtang Township,Anhua County,Hunan Province.Born in Daoguang 17 years(1837)in July,Tongzhi 6 years(1867)in the Qing Dynasty was cited in the township.The next year,the palace was ranked second in the ranks of Jinshi(list of eyes),and was awarded to the Hanlin Academy for compilation.He was a fellow examiner of Shuntian Township Examination and an assistant examiner of Jiangnan Township Examination.He died of illness in the five years of the Republic of China(1916).Huang Ziyuan learned calligraphy from his grandfather when he was young.He took Fa'ou,Yan,Liu and Wang's schools to form his own style.He was praised by Tongzhi Emperor as "word sage" and was known as "Southern Huang and Northern Dai" with Dai Binyuan.This paper makes a comprehensive analysis and study of Huang Ziyuan and his calligraphy from an objective point of view.The first chapter traces back his life and friends.First,it introduces Huang Ziyuan's family background and explores the important influenceof his family origin in his growth process.Secondly,it tells Huang Ziyuan's life experience from three periods: his way to study,his experience as an official and his retirement life in his later years.Finally,he seeks his daily life from his friendship situation,and strives to restore his personal life in detail and truthfully.Chapter two analyses and studies the duplicated "Jiujia Structure 92Law" and traces back the origin of the works on the structure of Jiujia in the past dynasties.Then compare the similarities and differences of Ouyang Xun's Thirty-Six Law,Li Chun's Eighty-Four Law and Ninety-Two Law vertically,summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the Ninety-Two Law,and finally narrate the structure of the space between the Ninety-Two Law and the value and influence of calligraphy education.Chapter three makes a detailed analysis of Huang Ziyuan's calligraphy art,which is mainly divided into regular script,running script and cursive script.Regular script is the most influential and profound calligraphy.Therefore,this chapter divides into three periods to analyze its regular script works from three aspects: writing style,structure and constitution.The running script and cursive script mainly analyze the content and artistic style of their works from the pen and knotting,ink and constitution.They also fully evaluate the artistic value of their works while objectively analyzing their works.Chapter Four elaborates its historical position and influence.This paper mainly talks about the influence of Huang Ziyuan's calligraphy on Calligraphy Education in the late Qing Dynasty and contemporary calligraphy education.
