| In China’s painting circles of the 20 th century,Huang Binhong is famous for his landscape paintings with black,dense,thick,and heavy style.Therefore,his calligraphy is "submerged" by his painting fame.His calligraphy takes the landscape as Chinese Characters and takes Chinese characters as his paintings.His art practice,making calligraphy enter into paintings to combine calligraphy with paintings,summarizes his unique ink philosophy.He links his calligraphy closely with his paintings,pursuing the aesthetic spirit of folklore doctrine which combines the inner force with inner beauty,and lays equal emphasis on the calligraphy of tablets and invitations.This kind of spirit has consistently permeated his whole life of artistic exploration.The style of Huang Binhong ’ s calligraphy originates very extensively.Influenced by the trend of the times,He started from the tablets in Tang Dynasty.Later,he simulated specimen calligraphy in various styles.Particularly,he was fond of the inscription of "Three Dynasties(Xia Shang Zhou Dynasties)".Most of his calligraphy works were the cursive writings and seal scripts.The exploration in calligraphy formed his unique artistic language of calligraphy.The layout of his cursive writing is staggered with separation and combination,containing the quality of "gold" and "stone" as well as the Qi of Zhuan and Zhou;his seal script is elegant and simple,containing the character of "softness" and "strength".Huang Binhong kept practicing on the road of the combination of calligraphy and ink.With the spirit of perseverance and consistency,he kept on his working on painting and calligraphy.In his old age,his painting signature and calligraphy were in perfect condition.Huang Binhong’s large number of painting inscriptions as well as thousands of letters showed his inner beauty spirit of "folklore doctrine" and his unique aesthetic idea of "uneven evenness and true beauty",which fully demonstrated his profound knowledge and artistic talent so that he was worthy of being an art master.This thesis conducts the exploration from the origin of Huang Binhong’s calligraphy,his calligraphy activities,his lifetime and friends,the relationship between "Five ‘Strokes’ and Seven ‘Inks’ " and his calligraphy art,the style of calligraphy art and its causes,the influence on contemporary calligraphy creation,etc. |
