| Animal vocabulary is frequently used in Chinese language.lt contains rich cultural connotation especially unique thinking habits and cognitive patterns of Chinese people.So it is vital to understand and use Chinese animal vocabulary in the second language acquisition.However,due to differences of thinking habits and cognitive patterns between different culture,the cultural meanings of the same animal are also different,and the using of animal words is different.So it will result in misunderstandings and communication barriers in the intercultural communication.It ultimately affects the improvement of learners’ Chinese proficiency.In this paper,we take Developing Chinese Advanced Comprehensive Course Ⅰ&Ⅱas the study materials to make statistics of animal vocabulary,select and analyze the "dog","fish","horse","chicken" and "cow" five kinds of animals and their related words.Then focusing on the Chinese character glyph,semantics and culture of animal words,we explore the teaching methods of Chinese character glyph of animal words from the perspective of radical teaching method and the teaching methods of semantic culture of animal words from the perspective of metaphor mapping,which aims at guiding the learners to set up their own second language metaphor mechanism,cultivating the learner,s Chinese thinking mode and constructing their own Chinese knowledge understanding and application system.We hope that this thesis will be of some reference value to the teaching of animal vocabulary in TCSOL in the future.The body of this paper is as follows:The first part expounds the reason and significance of this topic.Then it analyzes the research status from three aspects of Chinese animal vocabulary:ontology research,comparative research and dynamic teaching research.In addition,it introduces the source of corpus and research methods of this paper.The second part explains the reasons for choosing the textbook Developing Chinese Advanced Comprehensive Course and defines the meaning of animal vocabulary.Then we make statistics and classification of the animal words in Developing Chinese Advanced Comprehensive Course Ⅰ&Ⅱ respectively.Finally,we select five animals "dog","fish",,horse","chicken" and "cow".In the third part,the five Chinese characters of "dog","fish","horse","chicken" and"cow" and the related animal radicals are discussed.The fourth part is the semantic and cultural analysis of "dog","fish","horse","chicken,and "cow".Besides,we give teaching examples of some animal words which appear in Developing Chinese Advaoced Comprehensive Course.We hope that it will be of some reference significance for learners and animal vocabulary teaching in TCSOL.The fifth part,centering on the textbooks,students and teachers,explains some problems in the animal vocabulary teaching in TCSOL and puts forward relevant countermeasures,so as to improve the teaching of animal vocabulary in TCSOL in the future. |
