In recent years,many achievements have been made in the study of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,but there are few comprehensive analyses on the topics of the entire six-volume textbook of The Comprehensive Course of Developing Chinese.The Comprehensive Course of Developing Chinese is a series of integrated course textbooks for teaching Chinese as a foreign language founded by multitudinous scholars,and also one of the most frequently and widely used textbooks in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,so it is vital to Chinese learners.The topic has a very important position in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,is the carrier of ideology and culture,and the core of the text content.Therefore,the aim of this thesis is to provide documentation support for users to quickly understand the topics in The Comprehensive Course of Developing Chinese,and strive to put forward new ideas and methods to help all kinds of teachers and learners use this textbook more efficiently.At the same time,it is also hoped that it can serve as a reference for other teaching materials within the scope of teaching Chinese as a second language.This article takes the topic setting of The Comprehensive Course of Developing Chinese as the object of study,takes Krashen’s input theory hypothesis,pragmatic competence related theories,the topic parts of both International Curriculum for Chinese Language Education and HSK Test Syllabus as the theoretical basis.The questionnaire survey and interview methods are discussed in detail in the corresponding chapters.The main body of this paper consists of five chapters.The first one is the introduction,including the background,reason,purpose,significance,content,methods,and literature review.The second chapter starts from the Krashen input hypothesis,emotional filtering hypothesis and pragmatic competence in second language acquisition theory.And also combined with the outlines above to explain and integrate the theoretical support for the topic setting of the textbook.Chapter 3 do some classification work on the basis of summarizing and analyzing all the topics of the six textbooks and then do the functional analysis work.Chapter 4 carry out questionnaires and interviews with students and teachers on the basis of Chapters 2 and 3 to receive accurate data and basic directions and to see how the implementation of the basic compiling principles of textbook about teaching Chinese as a second language.The fifth chapter proposes reasonable suggestions on the use of textbook topics from the perspectives of teachers,students and textbook editors on the basis of all the previous chapters.The final part is the conclusion,which summarizes the results of this research and reflects on the deficiencies of my thesis.
