Education is to last for generations.In the process of pushing forward the development of education,family education is an important force that allows no negligence.And,foreign educational ideas have some referential value for the sustainable development of family education in China.So,it is becoming more and more important to translate family education reading material.This thesis is a translation report based on The Read-Aloud Family: Making Meaningful and Lasting Connections with Your Kids(Chapters 6-8)written by Sarah Mackenzie.The text mainly describes the problems that children may encounter in the process of family reading,as well as the parental misunderstanding about reading.The book proposes solutions,and expounds the importance and methods of reading.And it also tells readers that if you,as parents,want to create a good reading environment at home,you must set a fine example for your children.Mainly from the perspective of English-Chinese contrastive studies,the author analyzes the linguistic features of Chinese and English languages,and adopts some methods(including amplification,conversion,omission,diction and negation)to resolve the problems in the translation process.
