Nowadays,no matter how sciences and technologies develop,and the world changes,water is indispensable and irreplaceable in human’s life and production.The source text is selected from The Water Security Paradox and International Law,which is the third chapter of Water Security: Principle,Perspectives and Practices.The issues of water security discussed in this chapter are mainly about the lack of adequate water qualities and quantities,which consequently causes a number of development issues related to poverty,poor health,child mortality increase and various conflicts.And the book analyzes the development of international water law in the future,and puts forward practical solutions to the problems of the existing international water law in theory and practice.The discussion of water security in this book offers the latest views and plays an important role in the research and development of water culture.The translation report has four parts.The first part introduces the translation task,including the source of translation task,a brief introduction to the source text,and the significance of this translation project.The second part describes the translation process,including preparation before translation and translation analysis and revision.The third part is the analysis of cases,which explains the application of Newmark’s communicative translation and semantic translation strategies in detail in translation practice with various translation methods and skills.The final part is conclusion,which is not only about unsolved problems and experience in translation,but also inspiration and expectation for future work.
