| With recent emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases,especially the COVID-19 in the beginning of 2020 challenging global health security,the health security system of the world has become as vulnerable as it was during the Black Death,SARS and Ebola pandemics.Under such circumstances,academic outcomes related to health security are in dire need to be popularized.For this reason,we selected Global Health Security: Recognizing Vulnerabilities,Creating Opportunities to help Chinese readers have a better knowledge of the world health security system.The translator of this report is responsible for the translation of the 16 th chapter.The source text,according to the text typology of Peter Newmark,is defined as one that emphasizes on informative function.Thus for a greater part of the text,the translator is being communicative to the readership.However,as Newmark pointed out that no text can be purely informative or expressive,the translator deals with some parts of the text with different language function by being semantically faithful to the original.The translator tries his best to combine translation theories with practice,providing a qualified Chinese version of this management study.Hopefully he can contribute in the popularization of academic outcomes of health security.The translation report consists of five chapters.To begin with,background and significance of the project are illustrated in the Introduction and the source text is analyzed in the second chapter.Then,Chapter Three includes theories under which the translation is guided.Chapter Four presents cases analysis of the translation.Finally,experience drawn as well as suggestions made by the translator are shown in Conclusion. |
