A Report On The Interpreting Task Of Startupbootcamp China 2017 Chengdu Digital Health Program

Economic globalization promotes an increasing number of international exchange and communication in science,health care,biology,information and technology,etc.,which leads to a higher requirement for interpreters' quality.In the face of more and more consecutive interpreting task in professional fields,interpreters have to receive,understand and translate a large number of academic terms and highly demanding professional knowledge in a short period of time.Due to the limitation of on-site interpreting,it's not easy for interpreters to translate the whole content of the speakers completely and even word by word without any omission.Under the interpretative theory,literal translation,liberal translation and other translation methods are usually adopted to refine and accurately summarize the main opinions of the speakers.Interpreters are supposed to grasp the key points and deliver with commonly understood words.Therefore,the interpretative theory has a certain guiding effect on the smooth expression of interpreters' target language.With the Startupbootcamp China 2017 Chengdu Digital Health Program as a highlighted example,this report tries to explore the application of de-verbalization in interpreting and consists of four main parts.Firstly,this report reviews the basic background and content of this project,and introduces the theory used in this process,that is,the interpretative theory.As the main body of this report,the second part contains the whole process of interpreting.The interpreter lays special stress on the application of de-verbalization.Thirdly,the interpreter points out the difficulties encountered in interpreting,such as vague terminology and unfamiliarity with professional medical knowledge,and solves them through paraphrase and reorganization.In the end,based on the feedback from the employer and clients as well as the interpreter herself,this report reaches a post-interpreting summary that proficiently use of the interpretative theory is critical to interpreting process and result.A conclusion can be drawn from this project that appropriately use of the interpretative theory could help to express the complicated source language in a more understandable way and improve the accuracy of the translation,which exerts a great influence in conveying the real intention and promote the international projects.It's the interpreter's sincere hope that this report,with its research on existed problems and learned experience,can bring some reference and enlightenment to the application of interpretative theory in interpreting.
