A Practical Report On Interpreting 2018 Internet Plus Digital Economy Summit Based On The Interpretative Theory Of Translation

Since the reform and opening-up,China has become increasingly connected with the rest of the world in some areas including economic and trade exchanges,business,diplomatic negotiations and cultural cooperation.Recently,the vigorous development of Internet has further promoted the rapid development of China's economy.Interpretation has become an important bridge in these events,which raises a higher demand on the interpreters'ability.Among many interpreting theories,the Interpretive Theory of Translation of the Paris School of Interpretation has been widely studied and applied,which provides a theoretical guidance for interpreting practice.In April 12^thh to13^th,2018China's Internet Plus Digital Economy Summit was held in Chongqing.From the perspective of the interpretive theory,this report makes an introduction and conclusion of the interpreting practice on this summit.As the largest high-end summit focusing on the Internet plus digital economy,this summit attracted more than 4000 politicians,businessmen and academics.So far,there is no English version for this summit.Given that the great influence of this summit,if the speeches of the speakers were translated into English,it will undoubtedly accelerate the export of China's Internet industry,and demonstrate our development trend and potential in Internet industry.This report makes a summary of this interpreting practice,and analyzes the strategies adopted in interpreting the summit under the guidance of the interpretative theory.Through the summary,the interpreter found some problems occurred in interpreting,including long sentences,logic confusion,and information default.On dealing with these problems,the interpreter put forward relative solutions,including logical clarification,reconstruction of syntax and information amplification.By summarizing this interpreting practice,the interpreter hopes to explore more strategies to cope with interpretation.And the interpreter also hopes that this report can provide references for her future career.
