| This report derives from the C-E translation project of Beef Cattle Industries of Poverty Alleviation,a brochure of Jiahao Company.The brochure introduces poverty alleviation industries underpinned by beef cattle breeding and an ecological industrial chain formed by the industries.According to Newmark’s text typology theory,the content of the brochure mainly has informative function and vocative function.The public will pay more attention to Jiahao Company’s business and local poverty alleviation via the brochure.The first three chapters of the report successively present the background of the translation project,the author’s preparation and the translation process.In the fourth chapter,in view of ambiguous words,run-on sentences,similar sentence structures and unclear connections in the source text,the author adopts Newmark’s communicative translation strategy and uses several translation skills,such as highlighting subjects,restructuring sentences and illuminating logic,discussing how to achieve the informative function and vocative function as the source does while delivering accurate and concise information to readers.Finally,the author summarizes the experience drawn from her translation practice,hoping to provide useful reference for C-E translation of similar texts. |
