This translation practice is an excerpt from the book Robot-Proof: Higher Education in the Age of Artistic Intelligence.The author mainly excerpts chapters 3 and 5,with 14000 words in total,and translates them into Chinese.These two chapters mainly introduce the way in whcih higher education makes adjustments in the age of artificial intelligence so as to cultivate talents to meet the needs of society.Robot-Proof: Higher Education in the Age of Artistic Intelligence is a technical text.As is known,a technical text differs from a common text in terms of vocabulary,syntax and discourse.Therefore,Skopos theory has been chosen as the guiding theory in this translation practice.In order to ensure the quality of this translation and promote the dissemination of the original information,the author analyzes the difficulties encountered in the translation process and discusses the translation techniques adopted based on the Skopos theory's three principles of purpose,faithfulness and coherence.This report mainly includes four chapters.Chapter One introduces the background and the significance of the translation project,the information of the original text and the rationale.Chapter Two focuses on the three stages of translation: pre-translation preparation,translation processing and post-translation proofreading.Chapter Three is the case analysis.The author mainly discusses the application of Skopos theory in this translation practice and the translation techniques adopted in vocabulary,syntax and discourse.Chapter Four is the summary and the reflection of this translation practice.This report aims to provide some references for translators who work in the relevant field through specific examples and their corresponding translation strategies.
