The Study Of Paraphrase In Zhengzitong

Zhengzitong was compiled by Zhang Zilie during the transition period of Ming and Qing dynasty.It became popular after its publishing by Liao Wenying.The aim of Zhengzitong is to fix and modify Zihui.Although the Neo-Confucianism was prosperous during Ming dynasty,Zhang was affected by Sinology due to his habitancy in Jinling and participation to Fushe Association.So Zhang paid more attention to character and exegesis.Former scholars set about researches from review of document,discussion of fonts and phonetic analysis.There are few study about paraphrase of Zhengzitong.Notwithstanding the issue,other study of paraphrase in dictionary has appeared.So we are going to set about the study of paraphrase in Zhengzitong accordingly.This dissertation summaries the paraphrase system of Zhengzitong.Firstly,it introduces the routine of paraphrase in Zhengzitong including its framework,order of meaning and pronunciation,tactics to polysemy.Its framework and tactics to polysemy adapt Chinese characters feature.Its order of meaning and pronunciation shows that the need of pronunciation-marking is different during diachronic language and scripture.And then it comes to the pattern and term of paraphrase.Analysis of paraphrase patterns contains immediate-paraphrase,definition and quotativeparaphrase.Terms are induced by content of paraphrase in Zhengzitong and labelled with reference-hint,definition-explaining and valuation;Among those terms,the reference-hint has reflected the lexical ideology of the writer.Some features of document-evidence discussed by the way.At last,the dissertation summed up its traits and deficiency of paraphrase.Double traits are concerning: combing of philology and encyclopedia,specific paraphrase.Its disadvantages are redundancy of paraphrase,miss-induction and partly obscure.The study of common word is always based on analysis of different historical text.Since diachronic analysis of paraphrase is uncommon,the dissertation compared Zhengzitong with Shuowenjiezi,Yupian,Guangyun etc.to investigate certain items of notional words.By investigating of pronoun,noun,verb and adjective,better understanding will be accessible.For pronoun,Zhengzitong constructed some part of speech.For noun,the natural noun paid attention to additional meaning;the animal noun indicated the theory of human-center;body noun is partly induced from Chinese medicine theory;abstract noun was explained by the host of mind which let the reader understand meaning automatic.The view of language of Zhang Zilie can be analyzed into system-theory and variation-theory.The system-theory is materialized by construction of part of speech and skilled reference.The variation-theory is materialized by cancellation of Yeyin and chasing extending meaning.
