A Practical Report On The Translation Of African Political News In English

With the advancement of the global integration and the deepening of political,economic and cultural exchanges between China and Africa,the Chinese media?s coverage of Africa has gradually increased.The news media has naturally become a bridge of communication,and the translation of news in English has naturally become an important medium in communication.This thesis is a practical report on the translation of African political news in English.The texts of English news come from the African political news in English introduced by Peking University Africa Telecom,which was promoted by Peking University African Research Center.This report starts with the application of translation methods,the application of machine translation,and the ideology in English news.It analyzes and demonstrates how to translate political news in English.In the application of machine translation,the translation results of machine translation tools have been compared and edited.In the translation of English news titles,vocabularies and sentences have been analyzed by a variety of translation methods.In terms of the ideology in English news,words and phrases related to ideology in the translation have been adjusted.This translation practice not only will enhances the author?s translation ability,but also will promotes the public understanding of Africa and play a reference role in translation of political news in English.
