A Report On The Translation Of Press Reports On Infrastructure Development In Africa

With the implementation of the the Belt and Road Initiative and the continuous warming of the new type of China-Africa strategic cooperative partnership,Africa's vital role in China's political and economic development has prompted us to have a deeper understanding of Africa and achieve a higher level of China-Africa cooperation.The materials were introduced by the Africa Research Center of Peking University,aiming to spread reports of the overall development of Africa,introduce Africa in a comprehensive way,and provide a window for the public to know more about Africa.The translation project covers a wide range of translations on African politics,economy and culture.Starting from the news report on the development of infrastructure in Africa,the thesis analyzes the specific cases in the translation process.This thesis also introduces the language features of news report and puts forward corresponding translation methods.News reports are characterized with short words,innovative words,professional words,names and places.In the process of translation,such translation methods as literal translation,liberal translation,literal translation plus annotation,and compilation and translation can be adopted.Finally,the thesis proposes English news translation skills and methods.
