The current educational system,to some extent,prevents learners from developing creativity and educational circles fail to recognize a right value orientation.However,all walks of life including education needs creativity.Cultivating learners’ creativity,therefore,is a top priority.A teacher as a bridge between knowledge and learners needs to not only impart knowledge but also work on education creatively.This is a translation project report on Psychology in the Classroom: A Teacher’s Guide to What Works by Marc Smith and Jonathan Firth,of which chapter four “Creativity” is the source text.This chapter centers on the importance of creativity and key principles of creativity and presents a view of creativity with a theory of transfer.This report consists of five parts.As preparations for this translation project,the translator carefully reads the source text to be clear about the characteristics of the text in terms of the choice of words and building of sentences.In addition,the translator chooses adaptation theory and refers to parallel texts about educational psychology to smooth her translation activity.In the processes of translation,the translator realizes that like using language,translation is a process of making choices continuously,where she must adapt to the purpose of the author and the context of the source text as well as linguistic features of the target language such as its structure.As a result,different translation problems entail various translation methods and skills. |
