A Translation Project Report On An Introduction To Criminal Psychology (Chapter2)

This is a translation project report on Chapter2 “Juvenile delinquency and developmental theory” from “An Introduction to Criminal Psychology” by Russil Durrant.This chapter introduces and explains the criminal theory of juvenile delinquency and the risk factors that lead to adolescent offences.This report,under the guidance of Newmark’s techniques for informative texts,will elaborate on the difficulties and problems in the translation process,analyze the causes of the problems,display solutions and translation techniques,providing reference for future translation practice.The report is divided into three parts.The first part is the introduction,which briefly introduces the background and significance of this translation project.The second part is the introduction to the author of the source text and the analysis of linguistic features of the source text.The third chapter describes the translation process,the theoretical basis of translation,as well as the problems encountered in the translation process and the solutions illustrated with specific examples;Chapter 4 summarizes the experiences learned in translation and the problems remains to be solved.
