This is a translation report on Behavior and Group Management in Outdoor Adventure Education by Alan Ewert and Curt Davidson.This book,with ten chapters full of real examples from rock climbing to wilderness trekking,provides a comprehensive guide for the understanding of the complexities of behavior and group management(BGM)in both theory and practice.Its Chapter Four,selected as the source text for this translation practice,mainly introduces some theories related to Outdoor Adventure Education(OAE)and BGM,to provide professional knowledge for the participants and instructors of OAE.This translation report is divided into five chapters.Chapter One is a general introduction to the translation project,including its background,significance and structure.Chapter Two introduces the source text,including the introduction to its main content and authors.Chapter Three is about Eugene Nida's functional equivalence and how it helps this translation project.Chapter Four points out some difficulties in the process of translation and corresponding solutions.Chapter Five summarizes the translator's experience from practice and some translation problems to be solved in the future.
