The original text used in this translation report is excerpted from Behavior and Group Management in Outdoor Adventure Education,co-authored by Alan Ewert and Curt Davidson.In view of the contents,this book is the category of non-literary text.According to Reiss' s theory of text typology,it is an informative text.This book teaches the readers how to interact with groups ranging from teenagers to veterans in various Outdoor Adventure Education settings.It provides practical suggestions on how to promote positive behavior,and also gives the readers guidance on how to alleviate behavioral problems.There are in total ten chapters in the source text.The translator chooses the first three chapters to translate.Therefore,the translator adopts communicative translation theory to make the translation clear and easy to understand,which conforms to the reading habits of target language readers.This report is divided into five chapters: Chapter One gives a general description of the translation project,with its background and significance included;Chapter Two introduces the background of the source text,mainly the relevant information of the author of the source text,the main content of the source text,and makes an analysis of the source text;Chapter Three is about Newmark's communicative translation theory and its application in this report;Chapter Four focuses on the perspective of communicative translation.Chapter Five ends with a summary of the translation project,including the enlightenment of the translators in the process of writing this report and the problems of this report.
