A Report On Simulated Consecutive Interpretation Of The 7^th Public Diplomacy "Beijing Forum"

The 7th Public Diplomacy "Beijing Forum" Academic Sub-Forum was held on November 12,2017 at Beijing Foreign Studies University.In view of the insufficient domestic research on the interpreting practice of public diplomacy academic activities,the author selects the speeches of three scholars from the 7th Public Diplomacy"Beijing Forum" academic sub-forum as the source language materials to conduct mock consecutive interpretationThis is a report on mock consecutive interpretation.Under the guidance of the interpretive theory,the author conducts the mock consecutive interpretation on the academic sub-forum of the 7th public diplomacy "Beijing Forum" and explores the application and effect of interpreting skills of addition,omission,positive and negative modification and combination through case analysis.It is expected to provide some references for the development of consecutive interpretation of academic conferences on public diplomacy in the futureThe first chapter of the report gives an introduction of the task background and task purpose.Chapter Two includes various pre-interpreting preparations.Chapter Three illustrates the interpretive theory and the guiding significance of the theory Chapter Four focuses on the case analysis.The last chapter,Chapter Five,draws a conclusion on gains,deficiencies and suggestions for the future respectively.
