| Objective: to investigate the relationship between self-disclosure and social adaptation and its internal influencing mechanism.To establish a serial mediating model of self-disclosure influencing social adaptation through self-concept clarity and friendship quality.Methods: 450 college students were tested by the self-disclosure questionnaire(JSDQ),self-concept clarity questionnaire(SCCS),friendship quality scale and social adaptation scale,and the data were analyzed by SPSS23.0 and Hayes macro program PROCESS.Results :(1)there was a significant difference in the level of self-disclosure between college students from cities and counties.(2)there are significant grade differences in the self-concept clarity of college students.The self-concept clarity of freshmen is significantly higher than that of sophomores,and that of seniors is significantly higher than that of sophomores and juniors.(3)there is a significant gender difference in the friendship quality of college students,and the friendship quality of female students is significantly higher than that of male students.There were also significant differences in the quality of college students’ friendship between cities and counties.(4)The gender difference of college students’ social adaptation is significant,and the social adaptation level of male students is significantly higher than that of female students.There are also significant grade differences in the social adaptation level of college students.The social adaptation level of freshmen and seniors is significantly higher than that of sophomores and juniors.(5)self-disclosure can significantly positively predict social adaptation,self-concept clarity and friendship quality;(6)self-disclosure positively predicts social adaptation through the independent mediating effect of self-concept clarity;(7)self-disclosure positively predicts social adaptation through the sequential mediating effects of self-concept clarity and friendship quality;(8)self-disclosure positively predicts social adaptation through the independent mediating effect of friendship quality.Conclusion: this study explored the relationship between self-disclosure andsocial adaptation and its internal influencing mechanism,and provided a new perspective for mental health educators.By encouraging appropriate self-disclosure of college students,self-concept clarity could be improved and friendship quality could be improved to enhance their social adaptation level. |
