A Follow-up Study On The Influence Of Social Networking Site Self-disclosure And Self-concept Clarity On The Basic Psychological Needs Of Left-behind Children

Basic psychological needs include autonomy needs,competence needs and relationship needs,which are important nutrients for individual growth and development.From the perspective of social penetration theory,individuals can obtain basic psychological needs through self-disclosure.According to the compensation theory of Internet use,left-behind children whose parents are absent for a long time will make up for the deficiency in daily life through social networking sites.With the development of modern economy and the rise of the Internet,the use of social networking sites is gradually getting younger,which is common among left-behind children.The use of social networking sites will affect individual emotional stability,happiness level and self-recognition.From the perspective of self-determination theory,the process of using social networking sites to obtain basic psychological needs will increase the probability that individuals will repeat the behavior later,which will lead to Internet addiction in the long run.Therefore,this paper focuses on the influence of social network self-disclosure on basic psychological needs,and discusses the influence mechanism of social network self-disclosure on basic psychological needs.In addition,self-concept is crucial to children’s growth and development,and selfconcept clarity refers to the degree of clarity of an individual’s cognition of self-concept and the degree of clarity and stability of their own views.A large number of previous studies have shown that the use of social networking sites will have an impact on individuals’ self-concept clarity.As for the relationship between the two,the current research mainly supports the hypothesis of self-concept differentiation,that is,the use of social networking sites will destroy individuals’ self-concept integration,leading to the decline of self-concept clarity.Again,the current studies have confirmed that the self-concept clarity affects the basic psychological needs,but there are few studies on the network context to explore self-concept clarity to the influence of the basic psychological needs,this study will therefore self-concept clarity as a intervening variable,discuss the basic psychological need to social networking websites selfdisclosure on the influence of mechanism.Sample of 673 primary and middle school students,this study adopts "social networking websites self-disclosure questionnaire","self-concept clarity questionnaire","the basic psychological needs questionnaire","the basic psychological need online questionnaire" for six months ’follow-up,using correlation analysis,repetitive measure analysis of variance and structural equation model for data processing,integration and analysis,Explore the relationships among self-disclosure,self-concept clarity,basic psychological needs and online basic psychological needs on social networking sites.The final results showed that :（1）the basic psychological needs of unleft-behind children were significantly higher than those of left-behind children;（2）The self-concept clarity of boys was significantly higher than that of girls;（3）Selfconcept clarity mediates the influence of social network self-disclosure on basic psychological needs.（4）The mediating effect of self-concept clarity on the effect of self-disclosure on online basic psychological needs was both immediate and long-term.（5）Basic psychological needs and online basic psychological needs are two levels of independent perception.
