A Practice Report On Guide Interpretation At Ancient Kiln & Folk Customs Exhibition Spot Of Jingdezhen

With the deepening of globalization,cross-cultural tourism has also been developed rapidly.As an ancient civilization with a history of more than 5,000 years,China has a wealth of cultural resources and attracts a large number of tourists from all over the world,and tourism interpretation plays the role of the language bridge to promote the development of international tourism.This thesis is based on the author's experience in interpreting for tour guide commentary in the Ancient Kiln and Folk Customs Exhibition Spot,a famous tourist attraction in Jingdezhen,Jiangxi Province,in August 2017.The source language of the practice is Chinese and the target language is English.The process of interpretation of the tour guide commentaries in detail,and the author's exploration and research in the practice of this interpretation described in this thesis.The thesis is divided into four parts.The first part gives a brief introduction to practical tasks of interpretation and analyzes the characteristics of Chinese and English tour guide commentaries;the second part is the description of the interpreting process,which is mainly divided into three sections.The first section is the preparation before the actual interpreting practice,including the practical preparation and theoretical preparation;the second section is the actual situation of on-site interpreting;the third section is the feedback and summary after the practice of interpretation.The third part is the analysis of different cases in the interpreting practice,which is based on the guidance of different translation theories and the corresponding translation strategies of interpreting practice.The fourth part is reflection and summary.This thesis aims to answer the following question: how to use the corresponding translation strategies when interpreting the words of four-character structure,proper nouns and redundant sentences in the tourism escort interpreting of Chinese unique ceramic cultural scenic spots? The issues mentioned above have been explained in this thesis,that the corresponding translation theories should be combined to come up with appropriate interpreting strategies.When encountering difficult four-character structure,redundant sentences and proper nouns in the process of tourism escort interpreting.In this interpreting practice,the author mainly applies relevance theory and translation variation theory.
