Practice Report On The Interpretation Between Japanese Tourists And Tour Guide In Lijiang

Tour guide interpretation is an activity that people act as interpreters between tourists andtour guides in tourists activities. The Japanese interpreter of tour guides not only need theproficient Japanese,the quick response ability and the professional knowledge of tour guide,but also need the good communication ability and strong organization and coordinationcapacity. Therefore, in order to spread Chinese culture preferably and to help Japanese touristsunderstand it very well, the interpreter should have the awareness of cross-culturalcommunication as well as learn the characteristics of these two different cultures.In this practice, the author worked as the interpreter between Japanese tourists and tourguide in Bailu Travel Agency of Lijiang. In order to finish this task of interpretation, theauthor needed to know more information about local customs and culture in advance and alsoneeded to collect more information referring to scenic spots through internet. In the process ofinterpretation, the author went along with the tour guide who organized the Japanese touriststo visit different scenic spots, meanwhile, the author made the clear Chinese-Japaneseinterpretation for all Japanese tourists including some typical commentary. In addition, therewere some problems about interpretation, the speed of speaking and the listeningcomprehension during the interpretation. After finishing the task, taking all these problems into consideration, the author made a conclusion that people should pay more attention toaccumulating and practicing, therefore, they could avoid more unnecessary mistakes andbecome a qualified interpreter of tour guide.
