Li Jieren “River Trilogy”of Narrative Research

Li Jieren is the "river trilogy" which is called "the modern novel of Huayang"(Guo Moruo)to lay its important position in the history of modern Chinese literature.In the three novels of "stagnant water","pre-storm" and "big wave",Li Jieren’s meticulous description of the social history and folk culture of Sichuan is true,complete,detailed and accurate.In the series of novels,he will be familiar with their own Sichuan and Sichuan natural cultural landscape and folk secular life intake,a comprehensive and clear reproduction of the late Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Sichuan social outlook.In the trilogy,Li Jieren’s use of Sichuan native language,with the Sichuan folk narrative way,through the writing of the history of Sichuan,depicts a series of distinctive characters,revealing the early years of the Republic of Sichuan is how the irresistible trend of change In the event of a change."River trilogy" nearly 1.4 million words,the novel size,the Bashu cultural landscape,modern history and Chengdu Fangzi organically together to show a strong local characteristics.This article takes the "river trilogy" as the research object,and explores the deep Sichuan culture and the narrative charm contained in Li Jieren ’s novels from three aspects: narrative logic,narrative style and scene with Sichuan characteristic.The main body of this paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter discusses the narrative logic based on the history of SiChuan history,and analyzes the relationship between the three novels from the aspects of the continuity of time and the inherent relevance of the story,so as to excavate the narrative characteristics of the novel.In the second chapter,the narrative style of Sichuan dialect is used to explain the role of Longmen array in the novel.At the same time,with the analysis of Sichuan dialect,it shows the richness and diversity of language in Li Jieren’s novels.In the third chapter,with the Shu-based narrative scene,two narrative scenes of Sichuan charm are extracted from the river trilogy: tea shop and restaurant,with the analysis of these two special spaces,Contains the cultural value connotation.Through the study of narrative in Li Jieren ’s "River Trilogy",the deep cultural heritage implied in the three novels was excavated.
