Li Jieren is an intellect who loves BaShu land and folk culture. He not only mirrors the anti-imperialism and anti-feudalism spirits of"Wu Si"period, but also keeps the traditional intellects'spirits which are calm, gentle and brave. For the culture of BaShu, he shows stronge approval sentiment, and the deep soul connections between intellects themselves and their traditional culture.Li Jieren appreciates the spirits of BaShu reality and optimism, and his words are easy and humourous. Without affiliating himself with any party or organization, he considers independently. The experience of entrepreneur gave him opportunities to meet all classes of the society, especially the middle and low, so as to observe and describe history from the perspective of ordinary persons and get rid of elites'enlightening stance from the top down, so he could be close to ordinary persons. He describes reality beyond realistic wisdom, comprehends citizen lives including the thoughts of society, persists the BaShu emotion. BaShu and Li have consolidated into one in reality.Works inherit styles of Zeng Pu and others in late Qing Dynasty to express society transformation through loves and family lives. In his works, he depicts the family piture of citizen vividly. For example, he records Sichuan folk-custom like weddings and funerals, tea and food, travel sites, streets and blocks, history stories, geography transformations. He records lots of custom and folks for the future to keep and succeed national culture and spirits. In the history culture assimilation but still frequency in culture conflict, his endeavor for recording history and keeping culture diversity enlighten the development of Chinese civilization.
