With the development of modern information technology,the concept of "Internet +" has been gradually extended to almost all levels of society,and this phenomenon also provides a new advantage for the integration of network information technology and education domain.A series of new media,such as social network platform and mini video communication platform,have become widely used in information communication channels in various fields with their advantages of timely communication and interaction,rapid information collection and wide popularization.The main process of teaching and learning activities is the transmission and reception of information,so the advantages of new media can be maximized in the field of education.New media can help teachers to convey knowledge information better and more flexibly,and help them to receive feedback in real-time interactive communication as well.This kind of interactive information transfer mode can greatly improve the efficiency of teaching and learning.Besides,to learn a language,for example,English,requires continuous training.The union of new media and English teaching provides an effective platform for students to make reasonable use of "fragmentary time" on their independent learning.This paper refers to the existing English teaching methods of tourism majors in secondary vocational schools,the data required for this paper is collected and sorted out through literature collection,questionnaire survey,interview and some other research methods.The main research object was the Guilin Tourism Vocational Secondary School,selected as the representative secondary vocational school of education reform demonstration school.By investigating the current English teaching mode,teaching materials and teaching methods of the target experimental school,this thesis summarizes and analyzes its characteristics,advantages and existing problems.Based on the research results,a set of feasible reform and improvement plan can beformulated.The teaching design proposed in this reform plan will be put into the tourism major of the experimental object school for educational experiments.Due to the high popularity of the new media platform involved and the low technical operation requirements,the combination with the teaching content can achieve a high degree of fit and the wide range of application of the model,so the practicality is beyond doubt.This paper adopts interview,questionnaire and four other research methods with high adoption rates recovery to collect data,By sorting out the collected data,the current situation of the use of new media English teaching mode in secondary vocational English teaching is obtained,the teaching effect of the improved plan proposed in this paper is predicted by the obtained current situation.The scheme is put into the school tourism class of the educational experimental object of this paper for comparative experiment,the experimental data are obtained to provide more direct data support for the improvement and promotion of the scheme to provides two sets of teaching design for tourism major English course in secondary vocational schools.The teaching content takes the English textbook of the experimental object school as an example,and details on how to conduct teaching in each section as well as the teaching method.The purpose of this paper is to provide a practical and effective teaching reform plan for English teaching of tourism major in secondary vocational schools,and the good habit of cultivating students' independent learning and improving their English level are realized through the program.
