The new English curriculum reform advocates the effective combination of modern education technology and English learning,so as to broaden the learning channels and achieve the independent learning.English teaching of rural primary schools is weak,and the application of modern education technology is not well,resulting in poor teaching effect.Combined with mobile online learning,this new teaching mode of micro-lecture breaks through the limitation of time and space,and have more obvious advantages and more attention.Micro-lecture is a kind of situational online video course designed and developed with micro-lecture video as the carrier,aiming at knowledge points or small part of course.In 1993 LeRoyA.McGrew,American professor of organic chemistry,proposed a “60-second course in organic chemistry”.In 2007,Salman khan,an American,founded the Khan Academy,which provides free education to people around the world through online teaching video.With the popularity of online learning,micro-lectures have a growing influence on English learning.In order to explore the influence of micro-lecture on students' English learning,the author carried out an action research in one class in Grade Four of a primary school.I had taught them for the first time.Other papers mainly focused on the application of micro-lectures in listening,phonetic symbols,writing and some special training.This paper focused on the application of micro-lectures in English review lessons in primary school.Students participated in the making of micro-lectures and reviewed English with micro-lectures,so as to develop their cability of independent learning.There are 16 students in the class.All of them participated in the action research.The research lasts 4 months.There are three questions in this research.(1)How to apply the micro-lecture in English review lessons in primary school?(2)What influence does micro-lecture have on students' interest of English learning?(3)What influence does micro-lecture have on students' results of English learning ?In order to solve the three problems,the author conducted two rounds of action research.Before the action research,the author knew about students' interest and results in English learning through questionnaire and pre-test.And it is found that students' interest and results in English learning are relatively low.To solve these problems,the author has designed and implemented six tasks in the first round of action research.After the first round of research,it is found that most of students didn't watch micro-lecture after class.Therefore,in the following of action research,the author designed and implemented four tasks about watching micro-lectures.Finally everyone watched the micro-lectures.At the same time,the comparison between the questionnaire and the test before and after the action research also prove that micro-lecture applied in English review lessons has a positive effect on stimulating students' interest in English learning and improving their results.The specific research results are as follows:First,micro-lecture was applied in English review lessons in primary school can be widely promoted in English teaching.It should be paid most attention to the students in the process of micro-lectures production,task design or implementation.I try to make micro-lectures that students really like and are also suitable for their learning.This is the basis of the action study.Second,micro-lecture was applied in English review lessons in primary school plays a positive role in changing students' attitude of learning English.They take the initiative to learn English.With increasing interest in English learning,students' scores have naturally improved.Third,micro-lecture was applied in English review lessons in primary school plays a positive role in improving students' scores.By comparing and analyzing the first test and the second test,almost all the students in the class have improved a lot.It can also be seen from the interviews of students that their English scores have been greatly improved.This research result is good for the author's own future English teaching,and also brings some relative enlightenments to other English teachers.
