Owing to the fast development of modern information technology,the merge of education and modern information technology has been a vital issue of research and practice.Micro-lecture as a kind of new media forms,helps us explore more possibilities in English teaching.The teaching efficiency improves a lot by using the new form "Micro-lecture" to represent the teaching content.On one hand,as teachers,we should keep pace with the time and proceed with learning of new information technology in order to meet the demand of modern society towards teaching.On the other hand,for students,micro-lecture assists them in understanding learning content.As time goes by,the learning content has been more difficult and challenging for students.There is no doubt that Micro-lecture makes it easy for students to understand knowledge and develop the way of thinking.Micro-lecture as a short and brief video,covers one simple point of knowledge by vivid forms,which is attracting and is able to arouse students’ interest.The problem is that the resource of micro-lecture is rare,which requires teachers to devote their time and energy to designing new micro-lectures and making researches about how to apply micro-lectures to English teaching.This discourse focuses its attention on the research of how to design a micro-lecture in primary school’s English teaching to satisfy students’ need and how to apply it into practice.In the first major part of the content,in order to instruct teachers to appropriately design micro-lectures,the discourse sets the textbook Join In as an example and delves into the specific design and example analysis of four different kinds of lesson types:vocabulary teaching,dialogues teaching,reading teaching and grammar teaching,from which we make conclusions of principles and methods of micro-lecture design.In the second major part of the content,the discourse elaborates on the application of micro-lectures of four different kinds of lesson types in preparation before class.Through setting comparison groups in which students’ability is at the similar level,we test the result of application of micro-lectures by using the micro-lectures of traditional teaching methods and micro-lectures designed by this discourse respectively on these two comparison groups,the feedback of which is from a questionnaire for students.The design and exploration of different teaching types make us have a new cognition of the connection between different teaching methods and micro-lectures.The application of grammar teaching arouses students’ interest and enhances the teaching efficiency.
