Research On The Apprentice System Of The Factory From 1949 To 1958

As a vocational training system,the apprenticeship system has a long history in Chinese history.Since the late Qing Dynasty,with the industrial transformation of the apprenticeship system,the factory apprenticeship has developed on the basis of traditional business and handicraft apprenticeship.Due to the coexistence of patriarchal colors and labor relations,its cheap employment mechanism has been widely criticized.After the founding of the People's Republic of China,the establishment of a new apprenticeship system was put on the agenda.Because of the universality and typicality of Shanghai's electromechanical industry in the formation of the new apprenticeship system,this paper intends to take this as an example to study the development and changes of the factory apprenticeship system during the period from the founding of the Communist Party of China to the formation of the unified apprenticeship system throughout the country.After the founding of the Chinese Communist Party,in order to help the apprentices who are "class brothers" to be fully liberated,efforts were made to remove the factors of "feudal exploitation" in the existing system.Through a series of reform measures,the new regime had joined forces with various factories to try to give apprentices the same status as "class brothers" and preferential treatment in terms of diligence,years,and treatment.However,as the contradictions escalated,the burden on the relevant departments gradually exceeded expectations.The government had to reject the vested interests of apprentices in the previous stage of institutional reform by following the old pattern.The existence of hierarchy within the working class and the conflict between apprenticeship demands and the realistic needs of national construction brought the apprentice back into the bottom of the entire factory pyramid system.The Communist Party of China's actions to reshape the working class were finally lost.The consideration of government pragmatism became the main logic behind the apprenticeship work in the new society.
