In the past,many critics were affected and dared not overthrow their views,which were almost conclusive.In fact,the Romance of the Three Kingdoms has clear subjective intentions in characterization,but it is not black and white.Confucius knows everything as God,but it is not infallible.Cao Cao is a traitor,nor is he without merits.Guan Yu is full of loyalty,righteousness and courage,but he is stubborn and self-serving,regardless of the overall situation.As an old and brand-new subject,the current study of characters in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms must be more timely,forward-looking and innovative.In this way of thinking,the single and repeated study of a phenomenon and a problem in the past is no longer the focus.Therefore,the new study of the old topic is not "the old thing is mentioned again",but a multi-level,multi-angle,and three-dimensional research.Therefore,based on the 120 Chapters of Mao Ben’s The Romance of the Three Kingdoms,this paper carries out an analysis and demonstration.The author’s main ideas are as follows: based on the text,combined with the background of social unrest in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasty,the surrender in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms will be taken as the object of study and analysis,and on the basis of careful classification of the types of surrender,from the motive of surrender,the region of surrender and the connotation of surrender.Expand the discussion.In the process of digging out the relationship between Xiang Jiang and the author and history,we should properly supplement the blank of Xiang Jiang’s research in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms,and then form a more systematic and comprehensive study of Jiang Jiang’s group images.From the perspective of Xiang Jiang,we can survey its influence on the development of the whole plot of The Romance of the ThreeKingdoms,and realize the cultural implication and "Three Kingdoms Spirit" of Xiang Jiang’s narration.And the research form of historical novel provides a specific direction.
