As one of the four marvelous masterpieces, Romance of the Three Kin gdoms has become a well-known classic novel. The cultural factors of the R omance of the Three Kingdoms have become a cultural gene which rooted in p eople’s consciousness and possesses an eternal charm communicating with C hinese culture. Romance of the Three Kingdoms wins great popularity among Asian, especially in Korea, which is just contiguous to China, enjoys the same Chinese culture circle and has been influenced greatly by Confucian c ulture. Since it is available in Korea, the Romance of Three Kingdoms also brings inestimable influences to Korean military, economics as well as ed ucation, and it affects Korean mass culture furtherly even to their folk f aith and makes it change to some extent. Romance of the Three Kingdoms has achieved a wide spread under the intercultural angle in the world and it has been interpreted, reconstructed and innovated under different cultura 1 backgrounds. Therefore, analyzing the cultural factors of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms has historical and cultural value to some extent.This paper divided into six chapters by using the influence study in comparative literature and the research methods in Reception Aesthetics. C hapter One claims the purpose, meaning as well as the condition, object an d method of the research. Chapter Two analyzes the condition of propagatio n of Romance of the Three Kingdoms in Korea from its unique charm, explain s the reason why Korea favors the Romance of the Three Kingdoms from Recep tion Aesthetics and presents its profound meaning in Korean literature his tory. Chapter Three explains the relationship between the Romance of the T hree Kingdoms and the Korean literature by analyzing the Korean narrative art, PanSaoLi Red Cliff Song and Huang Yueying’s Biography, the derived n ovel of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. More than that, it analyzes Korean historical novel such as Hong Ji-tong’s Biography, Limkukjung, Jan Gil-sa n and Korean translations as well as adaptions of Romance of the Three Kin gdoms to prove it. Chapter Four takes proverbs and idiom stories as exampl es to prove the influences which brought by the linguistic performance and the unique ethnic linguistic performance which formed during the process of understanding the language of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Chapte r Five analyzes the situation about how Koreans accept the main characters such as Guan Yu, Zhu Geliang and the worship of them which spring up amon g people, it also introduces the sacrifice of Guan Yu Temple and Temple of Marquis. Chapter Six explains the great influences which Romance of the T hree Kingdoms brought to Korean mass culture in the modern society by anal yzing the comics and online games based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms.This paper claims the main motive why Korean absorb the Romance of the Three Kingdoms is common cultural value which formed under the influen ce of the Confucianism culture, The diversity of the mode of the romance o f the Three Kingdoms, The mutual penetration of the culture based on the t raditional Chinese culture The mutual penetration of the culture based on the traditional Chinese culture In the process of adopting the novel, Kore an formed unique cultural factors which contain national characteristic su ch as PanSaoLi Red Cliff Song, Huang Yueying’s Biography, derived novel o f Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the interpretation, adoption of the novel as well as Guan Yu and Zhu Geliang’s beliefs. All of these display the s urvival condition of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms in Korean. From the reflection of how cultural factors work in Korean culture, we find out th at the Romance of the Three Kingdoms has strong propagation, at the same t ime, Korean’s adoption of the novel diverse. Moreover, it shows that lots of cultural factors in classic literature could be investigated and then b ecome innovative. The classic literature reveals remarkable cultural influ ences and becomes the paradigm of promoting Chinese traditional literature and culture.
