The Romance of Three Kingdoms is regarded as the first historical novel in China. It is not only one of the four major writings in Ming dynasty but also one of China’s four classics. Luo Guanzhong created it according to The History of the Three Kingdoms, its Reflection and Comprehensive Mirror to Ai d in Government as well as combining with the unofficial history, the miscella neous, script for story-telling, opera and other folk literature and art achieveme nt. Three Kingdoms depicts the complicated struggle between three leading poli tical and military group Wei, Shu and Wu respectively led by Cao Cao, Liu B ei and Sun Quan from late Eastern Han Dynasty to the early Western Jin Dyn asty. It also created Zhuge Liang, Guan Yu and many other heroic images. Th e Novel describes politics, military, diplomatic strategy and majestic war of thi s period and has a great effect on later literary creation. Romance of Three Kingdoms not only affected every aspect of our sociaty, but also had a great influence on its sociaty and literary creation after it was introduced to South K orea. And it is a great work in the history of cultural exchanges between Chin a and South Korea.Romance of King Xingwu centers around famous general Kim Yeu-sin in the end of the Korean Silla. At the same time, it also combines the Silla three historical facts and is based on the historical records of The Romance of Thr ee Kingdoms. Gold yuin title and related myths and legends such as the northern, draw lesso ns from the romance of The Three Kingdoms and so on classical Chinese liter ature creation of historical novels.This paper focus on the evolution, the structure, the main characters, and theliterary significance of of the two novels. Although two novels evolve from historyl books, Romance of The Three Kingdoms had a complex system while the evolutionary process of Romance o f King Xingwu is relatively simple and loose because of the difference of hist orical and popular literature achievement.As to the structure, the two novels remain distictive besides many similari ties. Due to the historical background, the cultural origin of similarity and Ro manceof King Xingwu drawing much from Romance of Three Kingdoms, The re are many similarities in the narrative mode, plot, and dealing with false or true in two novels. And because of the work object, resources, as well as the specific national culture differences, and there are many differences.Heroes emerge in troubled times and both two books created a multitude of heroic figures. And there are many different characters, especially the main character of the two books. Each has its own merits. This thesis gives a comp arativel analysis of the wisdom, counsel and swift and multiple aspects of mai n characters represented by Zhu Geliang and Kim Yeusin.Finally, the two books in their home country or even China and South K orealiterature influence and significance of the comparative analysis between the twocountries.In short, there are many comparable aspects between Romance of the Thre e Kingdoms and Romance of King Xingwu as a reflection of the history of T heThree Kingdoms period, the historical novels to China and South Korea. Thr ough the comparison, this paper helps to gain a better understanding of the tw o books and three kingdoms culture to China and Korea, and also wishes to d evotes to in-depth research of two books.
