Research On The Narrative Application Of Sports Elements In Contemporary Movies

In contemporary movies,sports as a classic imagery element is often used in large numbers.Such as "Fast & Furious" in motor sports,"Unbeatable " in "Guild War","To the Fore" in the field of cycling.As an important part of cultural life,sports activities are always with us,and from the very beginning,they have become the spiritual activities and spiritual products shared by human beings,and are an important force for promoting social development and human progress.After the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games,domestic and foreign movies entered a new stage of development.The bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics will also set off a new round of sports boom in China.General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that it is necessary to speed up the construction of a sports power and integrate sports into the big two-hundred-year struggle goal.As an important social and cultural product and a carrier of cultural communication,film art is incorporating a lot of fresh sports elements in its creation,showing the characteristics of a new era.In this paper,the author will use literature methods,case analysis methods,narratological analysis and other research methods to study Chinese and foreign films in the past decade,and explore the narrative of sports elements in contemporary movies from narrative content,narrative structure,narrative language and so on.Through analysis and argumentation,the author finds that sports elements exist in the art of cinema in many ways.It is presented as a "core" event,a "satellite" event,and in different forms such as scene elements and narrative symbols.Sports elements promote film narrative through two parts: form and content.Not only do they rely on the characteristics of sports,they bring shocking audiovisual language to the film,but also influence the film from characters,plots and structure.In addition,in some movies,the presentation of sports elements has greatly enhanced the connotation of the film,enhanced the aesthetic characteristics of the film,enhanced the emotional intrusion of the film,and satisfied the deep desire of the audience.At the same time,in the current film creation,the narrative motivation of sports elements is also slightly insufficient,and the quality of film creation still needs to be improved.In the future,through continuous thinking on the application of sports elements in contemporary movies,sports elements will be more rationally presented in the film,and the development of Chinese and foreign sports films will usher in a brighter future.
