Research On Narrative Characteristics Of American Boxing Films

Sports films are an important medium for cultural communication.As an important branch of sports films,boxing films are also the most common subject of Oscar-winning sports movies.They are loved by more audiences and scholars,and they have also become an important way to spread American culture.This research combines the development history of American boxing sports,the development history of American Hollywood movies,the development history of American sports films and the evolution of American social and historical background,and divides the development of American boxing films into five historical stages.Using the theory of film narratology to analyze the American social and historical background of American boxing films in different stages of development,analyze the performance characteristics of boxing films in each stage in terms of narrative structure,narrative time,narrative space,narrative themes and comparing boxing films in various periods In-depth research has been conducted on the prominent social issues in the book.The study found that,from the perspective of narrative structure,American boxing movies as a whole are dominated by dramatic linear structures,and have also developed a complex state of coexistence of multiple forms,and finally return to the classic Hollywood narrative mode that incorporates the nature of commercial blockbusters.From the perspective of narrative time and narrative space,the space-time dimension of American boxing films presents a development trend from single to diversified.While enriching the content and emotion of the film,it also meets the audience’s increasing aesthetic needs.From the perspective of narrative themes,the narrative theme of American boxing movies has always revolved around individual heroism,which has developed into the realization of the "American Dream".This is actually the core content of the "American Dream" spread through boxing movies,that is,as long as through unremitting efforts With struggle,you can get the dream of a better life.At the same time,American boxing movies also have a certain effect on the development of American sports culture.
