| Dictionary paraphrase is the most important part for lexicographers and dictionary users to pay attention to.In recent years,most of researches are on the comparative study of the introverted Chinese learning dictionary and the extroverted Chinese learning dictionary,while the comparative study between the outward-oriented dictionaries are rare.The popularity and breadth of English in the world is worth for Chinese to learn.The English learning dictionary is widely used around the world and becomes more mature.In view of this kind of phenomenon,this paper selects two extroverted learning dictionaries,The commercial Press Learner’s Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese and Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary,which are representative of English and Chinese.On the basis of comprehensive collection,using many studies of cognitive linguistics,cultural linguistics,modern lexicology and other related theories are used to compare the interpretations of the two dictionaries.This article is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,which includes the value and significance of the topic,related research results,processes and methods.In the second chapter,through the statistics of human body items and their meanings in the two dictionaries,the differences and causes of the two dictionaries are classified and compared in terms of the number of meaning items and the order of meaning items.The third chapter compared the similarities and differences between the two versions of the dictionary in terms of interpretation,mode and illustration setting by comparing the definition of the word,the interpretation mode of the words in the semantic field and the cultural communication and the setting of the context.The advantages and disadvantages.The fourth chapter is the interpretation of the two dictionaries and the interpretation principles.This paper compares and analyzes the content of the human body parts items in the two dictionaries and the principles of their expressions,obtains the common features and personality characteristics of the words in the same semantic field in different languages.The fifth chapter puts forward the advantages and disadvantages of The commercial Press Learner’s Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese,and give suggestions for otheroutward-oriented learning dictionaries or to compile a large-scale outward-oriented Chinese dictionary in the future.Help learners quickly and effectively understand and master the purpose of the semantic field vocabulary. |
