The media attribute of photographic art has always been a means for photographers to explore society.In a short period of 180 years,photography has also shown a contest with paintings with thousands of years of history.Its irreplaceable historical record function is highly respected by people.The photographer pressed the shutter and the past moment was dead,but the moment recorded by the camera existed forever.This is the unique charm of the image.Photography is both an art and a medium.People express their emotions and explore social and thinking problems in the form of video recording.Among many kinds of photography,documentary photography can best reflect the social attributes of photography.The education of art candidates in China has always been a hot topic of public concern.In recent years,more and more photography professional art candidates have appeared among art candidates.This group has formed a typical phenomenon of "art examination fever" in China.In photography examinees,most of them are just because many colleges and universities generally require lower scores for cultural courses in photography than for traditional art majors and director majors,thus spawning a large number of photography examinees.They are different from choreographers and art students,and they are not just taking pictures with cameras.On the contrary,photography examinees' learning content and examination methods are more complex.At present,the examination settings of photography major in domestic universities are also different.In many areas,the provincial unified examination of art major has not set and distinguished photography major in detail,which highlights the particularity and complexity of photography candidates in the huge group of art candidates.The photography art examination is a classic representative of the education of art candidates in our country.Taking the social significance of documentary photography as the breakthrough point,this paper takes the documentary image of the photographic art examination as an example to analyze the application of documentary photography language and the social significance of documentary photography,and exposes the development of the domestic photographic art examination through the image.
