From Traditional Documentary Photography To "new Documentary Photography

After the reform and opening up,China’s "new documentary photography" has gradually started.It has been 43 years of development.During this period,the domestic research and Exploration on documentary photography has not stopped.Starting from traditional documentary photography and "New Documentary Photography",this article shows that "New Documentary Photography" is a photographic technique changed by traditional documentary photography.to adapt to social change.This type of recording technique is mainly reflected in projecting the Creator’s ideas and opinions onto the real scenes and events of daily life,which not only depict their own inner world,but also metaphorically represent their own unique views on social phenomena.Starting from the cases of "New Documentary Photography" in important events and exhibitions after the millennium,the article analyzes the style and value of "New Documentary Photography" to discuss that "New Documentary Photography" retains the documentary essence and expresses personal ideas.This work is divided into five parts.Firstly,the introduction summarizes the research methods,significance,research background and research status of this subject.At first,this paper takes China from the late 1970 s to today(1976-2021)as a time division to show readers a more detailed development context of Chinese documentary photography.The second chapter discusses the transformation of contemporary documentary photography with photographic cases as evidence and clarifies the similarities and differences between "Traditional Documentation" and "New Documentation".The third chapter examines various factors that influence the transformation of documentary photography.The fourth chapter analyses the current situation of the "New Documentary Photography" and looks forward to its influence in the context of artistic creation.Using methods of literature research,case analysis and quantitative analysis,this paper examines the relationship between "New Documentary Photography" and Chinese social changes and shows that "New Documentary Photography" has a positive meaning for social reality as a creative technique at present.
