Nowadays,with the rapid development of education reformation,the traditional teacher-oriented model can not meet modern society's requirements of talents cultivation.Hence,cooperation has become a necessary ability in the process of internationalization,and cooperative learning has become one of the indispensable teaching methods in modern education.Therefore,junior high school English teachers should be aware of the significance of cooperative learning and cultivate students' awareness of cooperation in English classes.Moreover,junior high school bridges students' previous and further learning that plays an important role in students' overall development.Furthermore,reading is one of the most important skills in English learning,so cultivating students' English reading strategies and cooperative ability becomes more and more urgent.In order to cultivate students' consciousness of cooperation and develop students' cooperative and reading ability,the author chooses the method of Jigsaw as an object to investigate whether it influence students' English reading performance or not.As a cooperative strategy,Jigsaw means members of each group who study the same contents comprise the experts,only when the expert students master the learning contents thoroughly,could they return to their group and teach each group member in turn.Based on the previous studies,the author uses Jigsaw teaching model in junior high school English reading class,aiming to investigate the following questions.1.Whether the application of Jigsaw method in junior high school can improve students' English reading achievement.2.Whether the application of Jigsaw method in junior high school can improve students' learning attitudes,difficulties,styles and strategies in English reading.This thesis investigates two classes including 96 students in Grade 8 who have the same English levels at Quwo Lechang High School.In English learning,one class is the experimental class,which adopts Jigsaw method.And the other one is the controll class,which adopts the traditional teaching method.The instruments of this study includes questionnaire,pre-test,post-test and interview.Furthermore,the data analysis is based on SPSS21.0.From the date analysis,the author illustrates the feasibility of jigsaw method in junior high school English reading classes.Then the author makes a detailed description of the implementation of Jigsaw method through specific teaching cases,summarizes the experimental results,and analyzes the collected data.The final results show that Jigsaw method can not only improve students' English reading achievements and the atmosphere of English reading classroom,but also can improve students' English learning motivation and cultivate the students' cooperative ability.Facing English reading class,students make big progresses in English learning attitudes,English learning styles and English learning strategies,which means that Jigsaw method is feasible in English reading class at junior high schools.
