The corporate social responsibility(CSR)report,as a kind of non-financial report, has summarized various social responsibilities performed by the enterprises and disclosed the strategic measures and actions taken by them.Recently,to respond to the call of globalization, lots of companies have begun to publish the bilingual version of CSR reports to earn international reputation and better implement the strategy of "going global".However, due to the differences between the two languages, the English version of such reports released by most Chinese enterprises are of low quality and readability. This has impeded the Chinese enterprises to participate in international competition.Besides, there are few researches on this type of translation at present. After considering all the above,it is thus necessary to study the translation of CSR reports. This practice report is based on the translation project of China Cinda 2016 Social Responsibility Report, which was conducted by the author in Shenzhen Huaju Translation Co.,Ltd.The linguistic features of this text include the use of numeral abbreviations, characteristic terms, redundant modifiers and slogans at the lexical level, and the application of serial verb constructions at the syntactic level.Guided by Relevance Translation Theory, the author attempts to classify the specific difficulties encountered in translation from the aspects of failure to convey the communicative intentions of source text(ST)and failure to achieve readability of target text(TT)after sorting out and analyzing the translation materials. In the face of such difficulties, the author tries to propose some specific solutions like explaining abstract information, revealing hidden information, omitting unnecessary modifiers, changing the part of speech of verbs, adding logical connectives, readjusting the sentence order and dividing long sentences, with a view to provide ideas for practitioners in this field.
