The thesis is a translation report of an excerpt from The Poltergoose of the “Jiggy McCue”series by English writer Michel Laurence. The thesis selects chapters one to twelve to translate into Chinese. So far, there has been no Chinese version. The selected chapters tell the story of Jiggy, who is haunted by a dead goose because of moving home, and he finds the origin of the dead goose and its buried place with the help of his friends.According to the characteristics of children's literature, and with the guidance of the Reception Anesthetics, the translator adopts a variety of translation methods in the translation practice so as to achieve vividness,in line with the expectations of readers. The translator always puts readers in the center, and follows children's features of thinking and language use,so that the translation can be easily accepted and understood by children readers. This translation report is a summary for my English-Chinese translation practice. It consists of the following four parts: The first part is an introduction to the translation task, including the research background, significance, the theme and style of original text; The second part introduces the translation process, including preparation, translation theory and strategies, translation and revision; The third part is the case analysis, and the translator analyzes the typical examples in four categories: words, sentences, dialogues and figure of speech; The last part is the summary of the translation.
