English Interpreting Report From The Perspective Of Schema Theory

It is well known that English interpreting is a complex process which involves listening,understanding,expressing and so on.It can't be denied that English interpreting teaching and learning can help us acquire basic interpreting skills to improve our performance and ability.But it should be kept in mind that it's,by interpreting teaching and learning alone,far from enough for English interpreting study which requires the introduction of the cognitive science,namely the Schema theory.Covering the linguistic Schema,content Schema and formal Schema,the Schema theory has many similarities with the three stages of English interpreting,namely the process before interpreting,during interpreting and after interpreting,which is sure to be conductive for interpreting study.As for the interpreting material in this essay,the announcement of the 2016 Nobel Prize is applied since it's a great honor representing the latest development in a certain field,which is of great practical significance.By the method of literature review,interdisciplinary study and case study,the essay can be mainly divided into the following parts: The first part is the introduction of interpreting materials including the context,content and purpose.The second part is the basic information about the Schema theory and its relevance with the interpreting project.The third part is the preparation before interpreting.The forth part is the case study during and after interpreting guided by the Schema theory.The last part is the conclusion.With the simulated interpreting of the 2016 Nobel Prize announcement,the essay is aimed at better understanding about interpreting practice from the interdisciplinary perspective so as to promote better interpreting research under the guidance of the Schema theory.
