| With the globalization of economy all over the world, increasing research has been done on western economic theories in China, and the Nobel Prize for Economics theories, as leading western economic theories, are a sure part of the study area. Foreign Economic Theories and Chinese Report of Study(2014) published by China Social Sciences Press, is about the many research achievements in Economics and “On Development of Modern Macroeconomics from the Perspective of Nobel Prize for Economics†is one piece of them. In order to show the Chinese perspective about Western Macroeconomics to the English speakers, the translator chose this piece for the translation practice.The translation report falls into five chapters. The first chapter introduces the background information and features of the source text. The second chapter gives a brief account of the translation process including the pre-translation, during translation and proofreading. The third chapter is theoretical framework introducing the three rules of Skopos Theory. The fourth chapter dwells on the translation practice at lexical, syntactical and textual levels respectively. Translation strategies such as using appositives, linear translation, splitting long paragraphs, etc. are employed in achieving objectivity and clarity. The conclusion reflects on the gains and limitations of the report as well. |
