In this paper,the attempt of Scaffolding Instruction in intermediate Chinese listening class is studied and discussed in the light of literature and practical experience.The author carried out a feasibility analysis about Scaffolding Instruction in intermediate Chinese listening class from three aspects of "nearest development area",social constructivism theory and the actual class situation.The author also carried out three teaching design in<Developing Chinese—Intermediate Listening Course ?>,took notes of questionnaire,students' feedback,teacher's teaching experience by interviewing students and teaching reflection.On this basis,some teaching suggestions were given.The author hopes to understand and use the Scaffolding Instruction better,help the students in the intermediate stage improve their level of Chinese listening and speaking effectively.Besides the conclusion,this paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter mainly introduces the research background,writing methods,the present situation of research and practice in China and abroad.The second chapter describes the concept,frame and common type of Scaffolding Instruction theoretically.It also shows a feasibility analysis combined with the practice of intermediate Chinese listening class.The third chapter clarifies the teaching elements,procedures and preparatory work combined with the textbook,provides a clear background explaining for the teaching design.The fourth chapter shows the process of Scaffolding Instruction from time allocation,teaching steps,scaffolding types,teaching aids,teaching activities and the reasons for teaching design in table format clearly and in detail.The teaching effect was recorded from three dimensions:class performance,student interviews and teacher self-evaluation.The fifth chapter puts forward some opinions and suggestions based on the teaching reflection and problems happened in the class,hoping to play a certain role in the intermediate Chinese class,especially the Chinese listening class.
