| With the rapid development of computer technology and artificial intelligence technology,robots have been greatly improved in terms of function and technique.Nowadays,robots play an important role in industry,social activity,service,medical treatment and other aspects.In recent years,robotics gets more and more attention in China.In order to make great strides in the application of robot technology,China needs to introduce advanced foreign technologies to promote the development of robotics.V-REP(Virtual Robot Experimentation Platform)is an important software of robot simulation technology,but the user manual of the software introduced to China is written in English,which is a barrier to Chinese users.Therefore,the user manual of V-REP needs to be translated into Chinese.The translation project is provided by the Robot Technology Used for Special Environment Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province in SWUST.The translation can not only provide the users with convenience,but also give reference for the other translators in translating the text of virtual robot technology.This translation report is based on the translation practice on the tutorials in Virtual Robot Experimentation Platform USER MANUAL.The source text is a user manual of the computer virtualization products,which is a typical science and technology text(sci-tech text),and its language is professional and objective.In view of this feature,the translator uses functional equivalence theory in the process of translation,and flexibly translates it with different methods to achieve the functional equivalence on the lexical,syntactical and textual level between the source text and the translation.After translation,both the translator herself and the client have made assessment on the translation.Generally speaking,the translation has reproduced the meaning of the source text,and can be applied to practice for the professionals in the field of virtual robot technology. |
