With the promotion of education in teaching Chinese to speakers of other language,the advanced development of this field put greater requirements to its teaching materials accordingly.Over the past few years,with the increase in both quantity and variety,it is of great important to improve the quality of teaching materials about this field.Moreover,academic circles pay more attention to the researches involved in the estimation of teaching materials as well.However,casting on current researches,more and more researchers focus on the estimation of teaching materials comprehensively while few of them try to do researches about exercises in textbooks.Therefore,this thesis took the classical works <Chinese Course> as an example,doing relative researches in teaching materials to drive deeper in the studying of teaching materials about education in teaching Chinese to speakers of other language.The thesis can be divided into five parts.Preface mainly has discussed and concluded the principles and methods of compilation and the classification of exercises at present time.Then come up with an idea that all of them ignored the importance of exercises' efficiency.What is more,thesis has summarized the current literature reviews which concern about the teaching materials and the efficiency of exercises,expounding the significance of this paper and defining relative issues mentioned in this paper.In chapter one,thesis has statistically analyzed and generalized the volume,content and variety of exercises in this textbook with specific standard.Moreover,thesis classified the exercises based on the above analysis,classifying the exercises in<Chinese Courses> according to its language elements,skills and communication ability.In chapter two,thesis has defined the relative subjects involved in this research and then analyzed those three classified exercises with analysis of internal Effectiveness,analysis of external effectiveness and analysis in using effective.With methods,such as,the coverage of outline,test,questionnaire and observation,we discusses the appropriateness of exercises design,the extend of outline coverage,the feedback from learners,and the popularity and the approval the exercises as well.At the end of this paper,thesis has summed up those representative results in this research and presented the deficiency in this paper,coming up with relative measures and casting pro missing expectation to researches involved in this field in the future.
