| The university work report refers to the report of the university or the school regularly issued to present the education construction and academic achievements.Many world-renowned academic certification committees take the regular university work reports as essential certification materials to investigate the development and construction of the university or the school.The study takes the 2017 Second Quarterly Work Report of SEM of BJTU as the translation practice material and the Text Typology Theory of Reiss as the theoretical foundation to comprehensively analyze the textual features of the university work report.Based on the translation practice,the C-E translation strategies and methods of Chinese university work report have been deeply discussed.According to the categorization of text types of Reiss’s Text Typology Theory,the university work report belongs to the informative text,and presents the following features:a high frequency in using terms,words with Chinese characteristics and names;a large number of non-subject sentences,compound sentences,long sentences and active voice;implied logic relations and so on.As for these textual features,in the process of translation practice,the translator flexibly adopted literal translation,free translation,deletion,adjustment and other methods and took the referential materials from parallel texts and others to guarantee the loyalty of the translation as well as the accuracy and completeness of the information,so as to provide reference for the translation of university work reports. |
