| The development of society and the advancement of technology bring modern people not only the enjoyable achievements,but also the inevitable pressure,both physically and mentally.Under that circumstance,nowadays modern people pay much attention to their health and are eager for knowledge about health.The science of health maintenance of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)was formed 2,000 years ago,and now it has become a relatively complete system.The popularity of TCM health maintenance books just meets the needs of health knowledge.In this case,the author has chosen chapter1 and chapter2 of the book Twelve-Lesson Beginner TCM as source test for the present translation practice.Based on the present Chinese-English translation practice,this report introduces the process and completion of the translation assignment.The report includes four parts:In the first part,the report briefly introduces the reason and purpose of selecting TCM health maintenance book as source text,and the target reader of this assignment.In the second part,the report firstly analyzes both the content features and linguistic features of the source text.And it gives a brief introduction to the parallel texts and relative information that have been consulted in the present translation practice.At last,a schedule for the translation assignment and the report is presented in this part.In the third part,the report firstly introduces the text typology theory,which is applied in this translation practice.The principle for the present translation assignment-to translate the information of the source text-is formed under the guidance of the theory.And then the report quotes examples to illustrate how theprinciple is applied in the translation practice.Lastly,difficulties and solutions are analyzed in this part.In the fourth part,the report gives a summary on the experiences gained through the present translation practice,and defects which the author needs to improve. |
