A Report On The Translation Of Leadership Lessons For Health Care Providers(Chapters 1-4)

Since the new era has brought many challenges to the management in healthcare field,the leadership to deal with those challenges determines whether a healthcare organization can survive or not.Therefore,Leadership Lessons for Health Care Providers is translated to enhance the leadership of Chinese healthcare leaders so as to cope with changes and challenges more effectively,thus improving the management and service quality in the Chinese healthcare field.Given that the author of the book intends to provide leadership lessons for health care providers,the translator takes instrumental translation strategy.Moreover,both literal and liberal translation methods are adopted in the translation of the first four chapters of the book to make the target language fluent,natural and concise.The translation report is mainly composed of four parts.The first part is a brief description of the translation task.It consists of the significance of the translation,an introduction to the source material,the author of the book and the book itself.The second part is a report on the translation process,which includes the translation steps of preparations,difficulties analysis and translated text revision.The third part,as the most important part,is case analysis.Based on the selected translation examples,specific translation skills are summarized on the levels of lexis,syntax and discourse.The last part is a reflection on the translation practice.From the translation practice,the translator has realized her lack of professional knowledge in medicine and management as well as the translation strategy and skills of medical management text.To be a qualified language service provider,the translator needs to improve her knowledge structure and translation competence in the future.
