With the improvement of people's living standards,wine has gradually become the spokesperson of high-quality life.But only a few people know about the long history of wine.With several thousand years of history,“wine” is not only a kind of drink,but a cultural symbol.Therefore,understanding the history and culture of wine can better understand the differences between Chinese and foreign wine cultures.The original text of this translation practice report is derived from the first chapter of the book A Natural History of Wine — Vinous Roots: Wine and People,which focuses on the entire history of wine.This translation practice report is the analysis and summarization of the entire English-Chinese translation process,including translation task description,translation process description,translation case analysis and translation practice summary.Translation case analysis is the core part of this practice report.The author mainly selects cases from the three levels of vocabulary,syntax and discourse to analyze and propose specific solutions.According to the translation principles and methods of information text,a series of translation techniques have been adopted,such as words choices and extensions,word formation,word expansion into sentences,long sentence decomposition,word order adjustment,and voice conversion.Through this translation practice,the author realizes that the translation work requires not only a profound professional quality,but also a rigorous and serious attitude.
